Festival 42 is a literary event dedicated exclusively to the narratives of the imaginary. Science fiction, fantasy and horror converge to create a space for cultural and intellectual debate, exploring how the fantastic helps us understand the present. The festival invites visitors to lose themselves in extraordinary stories, discover fresh voices and be surprised by visual displays and unexpected talks. Far from the obvious, it’s a place where new worlds are imagined and explored.

This is good to know

The festival offers talks and panel discussions with national and international authors, alongside writing and illustration workshops and activities for creating imaginary worlds. The highlight is the 42 Awards, which celebrate exceptional works, authors, and translations in the fantasy genre.
Why “42”? It’s a playful nod to fans – a legendary number referring to the ultimate answer to “life, the universe, and everything” in Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
