The exhibition “Anna Moreno. La tercera torsió” at MACBA explores utopian architecture, temporality, and colonial heritage. The centrepiece is The Terminal Beach, an agricultural village designed by Ricardo Bofill in the Algerian Sahara in the late 1970s, which was never completed. Using this project as a starting point, Anna Moreno juxtaposes the modern promises of architecture with the political, material, and colonial imprints left on the site. This is a story of an imagined future, sand, and ruins that still stand today.

Anna Moreno and filmmaker Bernardo Zanotta travelled to the Algerian Sahara as tourists and filmed the site using a small camera without an official permit.
To watch The Terminal Beach, the MACBA has installed an artificial dune inside the room, so that you can watch the film right from the sand.
