The Fira Viba del Bages takes place each year in Manresa, offering the chance to explore and experience the region’s wine culture. Its programme features a wide range of activities designed for both wine enthusiasts and the simply curious, while giving small family-run wineries and local wine shops the opportunity to showcase the very best of their vineyards. Strolling through the fair is a way to engage with the area’s history, diversity and winegrowing heritage, accompanied by enticing food stalls: artisan cheeses, cured meats and local dishes that pair perfectly with every glass. It is a place for tasting, conversation and discovering why Bages wines are once again taking centre stage with pride.

This is good to know

Some of Catalonia’s most celebrated wines are produced in small Bages wineries that participate in the Fira Viba.
The Bages region – a land of monasteries and revived vineyards –has a winemaking tradition that stretches back to the Middle Ages. Phylloxera nearly wiped it from the map, but today the DO Pla de Bages denomination of origin stands as a symbol of resilience and ingenuity. Grape varieties such as picapoll are returning to the spotlight, much like a long-forgotten dialect brought back to life.
Visit the wine shops with an open mind: forget traditional pairings and try the unexpected, such as a young sumoll served with a local coca de recapte (a flatbread topped with seasonal vegetables).
