“Icons. Steve McCurry” is a photographic retrospective at the Palau Martorell dedicated to the American photojournalist. The exhibition features more than 150 large-format images spanning over four decades of work, including portraits, landscapes, and everyday scenes captured across the world. This retrospective features his most famous image, the portrait of the Afghan girl photographed in 1985 in a refugee camp. McCurry's work brings us up close with stories, faces, and landscapes that have been shaped by the world.

This is... good to know

McCurry often uses soft light that makes the eyes of his subjects shine. This is precisely where the power of his images tends to concentrate.
