The International New Rose Competition is an annual event that recognises original varieties developed by experts from across the globe before they reach the market. Held in Cervantes Park, it brings together an international panel of judges who assess qualities such as vigour, flowering and fragrance. Beyond the competition itself, the event establishes Barcelona as a benchmark in botany and offers the chance to discover, at the height of spring, the roses set to shape gardening trends.

This is good to know

Although the competition lasts for three days, the blooms remain spectacular until July, so visiting is still rewarding even after the event.
Within the gardens, a dedicated area brings together the award-winning rose bushes from each edition.
