The "Josep Maria de Sucre, activista i artista visionari" ("Josep Maria de Sucre, activist and social visionary") exhibition at Espais Volart focuses on the Catalan painter, poet, and critic. The exhibit features his expressionist works, with faces, masks, and portraits that explore human psychology with a disturbing intensity. It also includes pieces by some thirty Catalan artists from the immediate post-war period. These works help to understand Sucre's role as a bridge between the avant-garde movements interrupted by the Spanish Civil War and a new artistic modernity.
