As La Mercè draws to a close, Barcelona still has one last spectacle in store. The Pyromusical combines fireworks and music in a synchronized choreography that transforms the city's sky into the grand stage of the night. A massive and distinctly Barcelonan farewell to end the festival with a view of the heavens.

This year, the Pyromusical has a new location: due to construction work in Montjuïc, it will be exceptionally moved to Nova Icària beach. The fireworks will be launched on Sunday, September 27, at 10 p.m. A farewell to la Mercè with a Mediterranean backdrop.
The soundtrack bears a distinctive signature. Josep Montero, singer and creative force behind Oques Grasses, has chosen an eclectic selection, featuring diverse styles and a strong presence of Catalan music. This is the fourth year that a guest artist has provided the music for the show.
Pirotècnia Igual is once again in charge of the fireworks design, synchronized with the music. The setting has changed, but not the precision: here, every explosion has to be perfectly timed.
Local tip: This time, don't look towards Montjuïc, but towards the sea. It's best to arrive early and use public transport; the coastline will have great views, but it's unlikely to be empty.
