The Festa Modernista de la Colònia Güell recreates the daily life of this textile community in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, just a short distance from Barcelona. Over an October weekend, the streets of the Colònia are transformed with theatrical sets, period costumes and early 20th-century music, evoking both bourgeois and working-class life. The involvement of local residents, the modernista architecture and the symbolic presence of the Gaudí Crypt combine to create a lively celebration of collective memory.
