Òh!Pera is a small-scale contemporary opera project staged at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. It presents three original works by young Barcelona composers making their debut on a historic stage, with full creative freedom and a modern outlook. With agile, informal staging, the series aims to open opera’s doors to fresh perspectives, exploring themes, styles and concerns relevant to today’s society. It’s a unique chance to experience the Liceu from a different angle – less formal, more approachable – while enjoying the musical and theatrical quality that defines this iconic institution.
