The Fira de Nadal del Port Vell takes place by the sea, in Barcelona’s historic harbour. The scent of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine mixes with the salt air, while the ice rink and Ferris wheel light up the wooden stalls. As you walk through, there are traditional sweets to try and live music to listen to, from choirs to local bands. It’s not just somewhere to browse, but a place to pause for a while, with the sound of music and the water nearby.

This is good to know

While chocolate con churros is a constant, each edition also brings a varied mix of street food that reaches beyond local borders, with some vendors adding international touches through reworked recipes.
Beyond the atmosphere, the fair also reflects the city’s maritime past, with guided visits to historic ships, family workshops and displays exploring the port heritage of the Moll de la Fusta.
