Beethoven's Seventh Symphony has been chosen to open L'Auditori's season. Conducted by Ludovic Morlot, the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) rings in the season with a piece that prioritizes rhythm and physical energy over melody. The evening combines the lyricism of the pianist Jan Lisiecki with Chopin and solidifies its position as one of the year's most outstanding cultural events in Barcelona.

Beethoven crafted this piece by adding instruments layer by layer, until he created a tension that eventually explodes throughout the entire orchestra.

During the second movement, Allegretto, pay attention to how the music begins. An almost imperceptible whisper emerges from the low strings.
