The Nit dels Museus, or Museum Night, is an international event in which museums stay open into the early hours, with free entry and special programmes. In Barcelona, more than a hundred venues take part, offering guided tours, concerts, workshops and exhibitions. In the night-time light, works take on a different character and buildings become unexpected settings. It is an invitation to slow down, let yourself be surprised and see art differently.

This is good to know

While most activities are free to attend, some require advance booking. It is worth checking the programme in advance so you do not miss the highlights.
It is held in more than 120 countries as part of International Museum Day (IMD), a global initiative launched in 1977 to highlight the social value of culture.
Many façades and courtyards are lit with temporary installations, changing the feel of the space as you pass through.
