The World Capital of Architecture is an international title that Barcelona holds in 2026. Over the course of the year, the city becomes an urban laboratory on an international scale, hosting more than 1,500 activities, exhibitions and the World Congress of Architects. The programme invites visitors to look at its buildings afresh, from well-known modernista landmarks to others that often go unnoticed. Routes, workshops and guided visits across all ten districts explore both modernista heritage and contemporary architecture. A year to rediscover and experience the city’s architecture.

This is good to know

The routes include visits to well-known landmarks as well as others that, while less familiar, reflect the city’s character.
On guided tours and workshops, you’ll have the chance to speak with specialists in sustainable and urban architecture.
