Basílica de la Sagrada Família

Audio guides with audio description are available for blind visitors. They are available in Catalan, Spanish and English.
There is a bronze tactile model, labelled in Braille, showing a scale reproduction of the Basilica floor plan. It is very useful for understanding the architectural complex, not only for blind visitors but for all visitors.
The two completed façades of the Sagrada Família run parallel to Carrer de Marina and Carrer de Sardenya respectively. The façade on Carrer de Marina is the Nativity façade, while the one on Carrer de Sardenya is the Passion façade.
Guide dogs are allowed throughout the site.
Inside the museum located by the Passion façade, visitors can explore the “Les torres centrals” room, which features tactile models reproducing the six central towers or crossing towers. Visitors can touch the four models of the Evangelists’ towers, the model of the tower of Jesus Christ with its crowning cross, and the tactile model of the tower of the Virgin Mary. In the central part of the museum, the “Inspiració en la natura” room can also be visited, with tactile elements that complement the experience.
Pre-arranged visits: Staff leading guided tours at the Sagrada Família are experienced in providing adapted visits for blind and partially sighted visitors. During pre-arranged tours, a range of elements can be touched, including plaster models reproducing the towers, pinnacles, windows, columns and hyperboloids to help explain Gaudí’s geometric forms, as well as forms inspired by nature, the chalice with grapes, and more.
Independent visit: Visitors exploring the Basilica individually, without a guide but accompanied by a sighted person, can also touch many features of interest, including the lettering on the door of the Passion façade, the tortoises on the Nativity façade and the interior columns resembling tree trunks.
The towers cannot be visited by people with visual impairments, as the descent must be made on foot.

Neckloop induction devices are available for use with the audio guides. They must be requested at the audio-guide desk. Sign-language guides are available in Catalan Sign Language (LSC).

The Sagrada Família can be reached by several accessible bus routes, the Barcelona Bus Turístic and Metro lines L2 and L5. Sagrada Família Metro station is accessible. The exits with lifts are located at the junction of Carrer de Marina and Carrer de Mallorca, and at the junction of Carrer de Marina and Carrer de Provença.
People with mobility disabilities can access the interior of the Basilica directly through entrance B on Carrer de Marina. Wheelchairs are also available for loan at this entrance. A lift provides access to the Basilica level and can also be used to exit once the visit is over.
The ramp leading down to the Museum from the Passion façade is quite steep and long. One of the two accessible toilets is located at the end of this ramp. This toilet, at the museum entrance, offers the best accessibility conditions. The second is inside the museum, near the Nativity façade, and its main accessibility difficulty is that the doors open inwards, making manoeuvring more difficult.
In the museum, many of the display cases are positioned low enough for wheelchair users to view them properly.
The side ramps have steep gradients which, although they do not meet all accessibility requirements, allow wheelchair users to access these areas.
The towers cannot be visited by people with reduced mobility, as the descent must be made on foot.
The Schools building presents no significant accessibility difficulties. However, there is a small 2.5 cm step at the entrance.
There are two shops, one inside the museum and another at the Nativity façade, which also serves as the exit, with automatic glass doors.
