Plaça del Rector Homs
Religious heritage
The Seu d’Ègara is a complex comprising three churches (Sant Pere, Sant Miquel and Santa Maria) and stands as one of the oldest and most distinctive monumental ensembles in Catalonia. It brings together different eras, styles and functions: walls that have endured since the 5th century, traces of the former bishopric and well-preserved Gothic altarpieces. Its greatest significance lies in the mural paintings, among the few remaining examples of this kind in Europe. It is a place to explore history at a measured pace, observing how each period has left its own mark.
