The Jardí d’Aclimatació de Montjuïc is a small botanical garden, ideal for a leisurely stroll on Montjuïc itself. Among pergolas, benches and pathways, this distinctive space is home to more than 230 different plant species. It invites visitors to photograph a saffron tree, an Australian willow and other unusual or almost non-existent species in the city, originating from distant places. A discreet space, understated and serene, where urban nature reveals its quiet, almost secret beauty.

This is good to know

Created in the 1930s, the garden served a purpose that went beyond ornamentation: it was conceived as a botanical laboratory. The aim was to test how exotic plant species would adapt to Barcelona’s climate – a true botanical casting call.
The garden closes early, so it’s wise to check the opening hours if you don’t want to end up searching for the exit among shadows and ferns.
