Walking among wild vegetation in the heart of the city is only possible in the Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera, on the slopes of Montjuïc. Surrounded by cacti and other succulents, the gardens open onto wide views of Barcelona and a dry, Mediterranean atmosphere. Although within the city, it comes as an unexpected corner, where you can look out to sea between palm trees and the sculptural forms of agaves, and take in one of Europe’s most important cactus collections.

This is good to know

Sheltered from the wind and facing the sea, the garden allows arid species from Mexico, South Africa and Australia to grow in Barcelona’s climate.
The garden invites you to wander along its paths or pause on one of its benches, ideal for breakfast or simply resting while looking out across Barcelona.
