In the north of Barcelona lies a large oasis where visitors can enjoy nature and recreational areas. Parc Central, located in the Nou Barris district, was inaugurated in 1999 to change the routine of its surroundings, with more than a thousand trees, two large lakes and leisure areas as distinctive as a 25-metre whale equipped with slides, rope nets and interior labyrinths. What also makes it special is the contrast between contemporary geometry and lush vegetation, shaping a space with its own character. Go, wander without a set route, and let yourself be surprised.

This is good to know

Designed by architects Carme Fiol and Andreu Arriola, the Parc Central de Nou Barris occupies the former grounds of the Hospital Mental de la Santa Creu. Walking among its gardens and fountains today offers a tangible connection to the neighbourhood’s urban memory.
