Parc de Joan Miró is a large urban and landscaped space beside Plaça d’Espanya. Upon entering, a carefully composed interplay of contrasts unfolds around a vast concrete plaza, where palm trees, pine groves and leisure areas interact with Miró’s monumental sculpture. Dona i Ocell emerges from the greenery, drawing the eye from afar. The route moves across platforms at different levels, discreet pathways and shaded corners beneath holm oaks and pines. Here, art and everyday life coexist naturally, creating an unexpected oasis within the Eixample.

Once known as Parc de l’Escorxador, the site moved beyond its slaughterhouse origins to become the first major urban park of post-Franco Barcelona.
