Amid curves, large windows and the streets of the Gràcia neighbourhood, the Biblioteca Jaume Fuster library invites you to discover your next read. Cross its threshold and you’re welcomed by soft, inviting light and the gentle murmur of readers browsing pale wooden shelves. Here, you can lose yourself among novels, magazines and comics, or explore exhibitions and attend talks. The design, by Josep Llinàs, honours the writer Jaume Fuster, whose name and spirit shape the library’s flowing curves and unexpected corners.

This is good to know

Dare to explore the local fiction section: there, you will discover authors from Barcelona you might not have known—writers who portray the city with an authentic eye.

The library’s terrace—rarely crowded—is the perfect spot to devour poetry or essays in the sunshine.

Shortly after opening, the building won the FAD Architecture Award. A library with great reads and a great design.
