The Teatre Nacional de Catalunya is a cultural institution devoted to the performing arts, housed in a monumental building that evokes a Greek pantheon. Beneath its glass atrium, classical and contemporary theatre mix with dance, family performances and international productions. Opened in 1996, the complex brings together three halls and open spaces surrounded by gardens – a setting where the architecture complements and magnifies everything that happens on stage.
