La Capella is a contemporary art centre housed in the former Gothic chapel of the Hospital de la Santa Creu, in the Raval neighbourhood. It is a place where the proposals of emerging artists enter into dialogue with the solemnity of medieval arches and walls. Its exhibitions open up new perspectives and connect with visitors through distinctive languages and formats. The centre also supports the participation of a wide range of creative practitioners and has become a reference point for the city’s most innovative artistic practices. A space in which to experience art without prejudice, within a building designated a Cultural Asset of National Interest.

This is good to know

If you love contemporary art and don’t mind stepping out of your comfort zone, this space is full of surprises. No two exhibitions are ever the same.
Many emerging artists consider La Capella their “temple”, showcasing their first works here before moving onto the international stage.
Workshops, meet-ups and performances are often free, offering a unique opportunity to interact with artists and witness the creative process firsthand.
