The photomural El món neix en cada besada (The World Begins With Every Kiss), is a work that blends Joan Fontcuberta’s photography with Cumella’s ceramics. Stretching over approximately eight metres, 4,000 tiles feature images sent by residents depicting moments of freedom. Viewed up close, thousands of small everyday scenes emerge. From a distance, the colours form two lips kissing. The piece offers a poetic reflection on the fragility of fleeting moments and the beauty of a universal gesture: a kiss.

This is good to know

One of the most photographed murals in the Gothic Quarter, it's best to visit early in the morning to see it at a leisurely pace.
