As the main air gateway to Barcelona, the Aeroport Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat links the city with over 150 destinations. Two operational terminals and excellent connections to the city centre – by metro, train, bus and Aerobús – make it a well-connected hub of arrivals, departures and reunions. It has an extensive network of national and international routes and serves as a key base for low-cost airlines. Around 12 km from the centre, the journey in is short and straightforward – a first taste of the daily rhythm of a city constantly in motion.

This is good to know

In 1927, the first commercial flight in Spain took off from here, bound for Palma – the story of modern aviation in the country began with its sights set on the Mediterranean.
Arriving with time to spare has its rewards: a coffee and breakfast while watching the steady flow of travellers is a small but telling slice of local life.
And although Barcelona is in its name, the airport is actually located in El Prat de Llobregat, a municipality in the Baix Llobregat and a close neighbour of the city.
