The Casa de l’Aigua (Museu d’Història de Barcelona) is a former water facility that tells the story of how the city was supplied. Built between 1915 and 1919, it formed part of Barcelona’s water system. A visit takes you through the old pumping station and reservoir, where original spaces and displays show how it all worked. It’s a place where engineering, city history and everyday life meet underground.

This is good to know

The Casa de l’Aigua preserves an original stretch of the water pipeline that once supplied Barcelona. Its three brick arches are a reminder that the system once extended for nearly 20 kilometres.
The complex has two sites linked by an underground tunnel: Trinitat Vella, home to the former pumping station, and Trinitat Nova, which contains the storage reservoir and chlorination plant.
