There is a large tactile model of the Sagrada Família. You will need to ask the security staff to remove the cord protecting it.
Likewise, at other monuments around Catalonia belonging to the History Museum (such as the Seu Vella in Lleida), there are also on-site models of the same monument.
Other models and objects can be touched, and although they are not specifically adapted for people with visual impairments, they are useful and easy to understand. Some scenographies can be touched under the supervision of a guide or educator, such as the prehistoric house or the 1930s kitchen. Other scenographies and recreations can be enjoyed without asking for permission, such as the schools or the tower of a castle.
On the third floor you can listen to many radio fragments or historical events as well as music or anthems.
The elevator buttons have raised surfaces and braille.
Guide dogs are allowed throughout the premises.

Staff have received basic training in Catalan Sign Language (LSC).

If requested in advance, the tour guide can use a microphone and sound amplifier.

The building is fully accessible, including the cafeteria and the terrace.
The entrance is level and the access doors are automatic.
The floors are connected by ramps and spacious elevators.

Only in some stage settings, due to their characteristics, will wheelchair users not be able to enter. These are the castle tower and the Romanesque church. In others, such as the Arab waterwheel, the setup has been renovated to allow wheelchair users to go around the entire process.

There are adapted toilets on the ground floor and on the fourth floor, where the cafeteria is located.

The Museu d'Història de Catalunya offers the itineraries “You Will Touch the Past” to see how houses and people's lifestyles have changed over time, and “Sugar: What a Story”, based on foods and eating habits of different peoples and cultures, suitable for people with mental or intellectual disabilities.
