The Museu Europeu d'Art Modern (MEAM) is a centre devoted to contemporary figurative and realist art. Housed in the historic Palau Gomis, the museum boasts an extensive collection of painting and sculpture by living international artists who revisit representation through a fresh perspective. Here, tradition engages in dialogue with modernity, and the human figure once again takes centre stage with a commanding presence. Unlike other venues focused on abstraction, the MEAM champions figurative art as an important, expressive language within today’s artistic landscape.

This is good to know

- The museum features three main sections: "Escultura Catalana del Segle XX" (Catalan Sculpture of the 20th Century), "Escultura Moderna del Segle XX" (Modern Sculpture of the 20th Century) and "Art Contemporani del Segle XXI" (Contemporary Figurative Art of the 21st Century).
- Occasionally, the courtyard transforms into a stage: live blues, jazz or Spanish guitar, an unexpected conversation between sound and canvas.
