Casa Bruno Cuadros, better known as the Casa dels Paraigües (House of Umbrellas), is a modernista building with an oriental inflection that catches the eye on La Rambla. Its façade, once home to a historic umbrella shop, is a collage of fans, dragons and vivid colours. The most striking feature is the large wrought-iron dragon that juts out from the corner and holds an umbrella, a direct legacy of its commercial past. With its distinctive 19th-century exoticism, each floor reveals a new decorative detail, making it one of the city’s most unexpected and visually striking corners.

This is good to know

It was designed by Josep Vilaseca, who also designed the Arc de Triomf, shortly before the Universal Exhibition of 1888.
The interior cannot be visited, but viewing it from directly opposite allows you to appreciate every detail with perspective and calm.
