Casa Comalat is one of the most original buildings of Catalan Modernisme, located on Carrer de Còrsega in the Eixample district. Its façade, adorned with glazed ceramic tiles and carved wood, seems almost to move. Full of curves and colour, Casa Comalat is an explosion of creativity both inside and out: wrought-iron balconies, green and blue mosaics and organic forms that evoke an enchanted forest. A modernista gem beyond Gaudí, it is celebrated for its exquisite craftsmanship and daring personality, capturing the bold spirit of early 20th-century Barcelona.

Casa Comalat, designed by the architect Salvador Valeri i Pupurull, has two completely different façades. The main one, on Avinguda de la Diagonal, is elegant and restrained; the rear façade, on Carrer de Còrsega, bursts with colour and modernista fantasy.
Although it is essential for anyone interested in Catalan Modernisme, the house is privately owned and not open to the public. Even so, its façades can be admired from the street, offering a striking visual experience.
