Casa Terradas, better known as Casa de les Punxes, is a modernista building with the air of a medieval castle, located on Avinguda de la Diagonal. Designed in 1905 by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, it combines exposed brick, ceramics, wrought iron and sculptural reliefs in a structure crowned by six pointed towers, as if lifted straight from a fairytale. Strolling past its façade encourages you to look up and discover the intricate shapes, textures and symbolic details tucked into every corner. Inside, traces of its modernista splendour remain, while the building now accommodates spaces for both business and cultural activities.

This is good to know

La Casa de les Punxes was commissioned by the three Terradas sisters, each of whom had her own entrance, custom-designed by the architect.
Don’t focus only on its pointed spires: coats of arms, roses and dragons are hidden across its modernista façade, like secret clues in a visual narrative.
Although it is not currently open to the public on a regular basis, it occasionally hosts cultural events and private activities.
If you pass by, don’t just look at it head-on: every angle reveals a detail discovered only by those who take the time to observe carefully.
