The Porta Fira hotel is a skyscraper designed by Toyo Ito located in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Its form is irregular: the floor plan distorts as it rises, widening and twisting to create an organic silhouette. The tower is encased in a system of independent aluminium tubes that follow this curved geometry, forming a continuous skin that filters light and conceals the structure. The result is a distinctive building that introduces a more fluid language to the contemporary urban skyline.

This is good to know

The building was awarded the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2010, standing out among skyscrapers worldwide.
Its shape varies on each floor, meaning no two levels are exactly the same within the building.
