Palauet Casades is an elegant neoclassical building in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample district. Since the mid-20th century, it has been home to the Il·lustre Col·legi de l’Advocacia de Barcelona (ICAB), the city’s bar association. The complex consists of three interconnected sections: the original Palau Casades, its symmetrical replica and an angular building that links the two. Each section is distinguished by grand halls with columns, ornate mouldings and fine materials such as marble and wood. Though it now serves an institutional role, the building retains the stately charm of its former bourgeois salons, and its inner courtyard and library invite visitors to pause, relax and take in the surroundings.

This is good to know

The Palauet Casades was originally the residence of a family of textile industrialists in the late 19th century.
And for those who think historic buildings are frozen in time, this small palace is still in use in the heart of the Eixample, bearing witness to meetings, legal debates and even film shoots.
