Can Folch is an old industrial chimney that still towers over La Sagrera, a witness to the intense manufacturing activity that once shaped the neighbourhood. Rising more than 50 metres, it was built to vent smoke from the factories that occupied the site: first a distillery, then an ice plant, and later a flour mill. With its exposed brick and striking silhouette, it is the only element to have survived that period of urban transformation. You’ll come across it while strolling through the Jardins d’Atlanta, where a discreet plaque tells its story.

This is good to know

The chimney isn’t aligned with any building because it survived the demolition of the entire factory. Today, it stands as an urban landmark, linking the neighbourhood’s residential present with its industrial heritage.
