The former factory in Poblenou once produced railway equipment and urban transport vehicles. Of the original brick warehouses with their high ceilings, only one witness remains: its chimney – the tallest in the city and the last to be built. Rising 65.3 metres in reinforced concrete, it once vented smoke from a site where locomotives, trolleybuses and trams were made, giving the area a truly authentic industrial atmosphere. Today, the surrounding space forms a striking contrast between the neighbourhood’s working-class past and its creative present, hosting festivals, fairs and urban art exhibitions.
