The Tres Xemeneies del Besòs are the visible remnants of one of Catalonia’s most iconic power stations. Built by FECSA in the 1970s, they rise 200 metres and dominate the Sant Adrià seafront skyline. Although the plant closed in 2011, the towers remain a symbol of the area’s energy and industrial heritage. Their monumental presence invites reflection on the use of public space and their place in collective memory – a reinforced concrete landmark that endures, awaiting a new cultural life.
