CosmoCaixa in Barcelona has a system of pathways with tactile rough bands and color contrast that lead to the planetarium.
For people with visual impairments, the planetarium features an audio description system.
To facilitate access to different floors, there are braille indications on the elevator buttons.
There are elements in the museum that can be touched, such as reproductions of skulls from the various stages of human evolution.
The museum provides a braille guide (in Catalan and Spanish) for the Permanent Exhibition Hall.
Upon request, the museum organizes guided tours and workshops adapted for people with visual disabilities.
CosmoCaixa offers an activity that, although it does not have specific resources for people with visual disabilities, is highly recommended. It is “El Bosc Inundat”, a space recreating an Amazonian forest, which is recommended for the sensations and sounds it provides.
Guide dogs are allowed throughout the premises.

Fixed hearing loops are available at the ticket offices, information point, Planetarium, Auditorium and Àgora. A portable hearing loop is also available for tours.

At all Planetarium sessions, the audiovisuals include Catalan Sign Language (LSC) and Catalan subtitles.

The Museum offers Catalan Sign Language (LSC) interpretation on request.

The museum provides wheelchairs to make it easier for people with mobility difficulties to move around. To use one, simply ask at the information desk at the main entrance. This service is subject to availability.
The building has six floors connected by several banks of spacious lifts, escalators and ramped routes, with gradients ranging from 8% to 16%. There is a panoramic spiral ramp connecting five floors of the museum, with a 10% gradient and no intermediate landings. Wheelchair users are advised to use a lift to access the different rooms.
The museum has reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility.
There are steps at the main entrance to the planetarium. Wheelchair users must enter from the rear and sit in the last row because the seating is tiered. There is a maximum of 12 wheelchair spaces.
The Auditori and Sala Àgora have tiered seating, and wheelchair users must sit in either the first or the last row, as access is available from both the front and rear entrances. All the other rooms on Level -2 are at ground level, and only Sala Pi requires access via a ramp with an 8% gradient.
The shop and café are located on level ground. Wheelchair users can access the restaurant via an alternative ramp with an 8% gradient.
The museum has a car park with 6 spaces reserved for people with disabilities, as well as priority access for adapted group transport vehicles 25 metres from the museum’s main entrance.
The building has accessible toilets on every floor.

Upon request, the museum offers adapted visits for people with intellectual disabilities.
