CosmoCaixa in Barcelona has a routing installation with tactile rough bands with contrasting colors that lead to the planetarium. For people with visual impairments, the planetarium has an audio description system. To facilitate access to the various floors, there are Braille instructions on the elevator buttons. There are elements that can be touched in the museum, such as reproductions of skulls from the various evolutions of man. The museum has a Braille guide (in Catalan and Spanish) of the Permanent Hall. Upon request, the museum organizes guided tours and workshops adapted for people with visual impairments. CosmoCaixa offers an activity that, despite not having specific resources for people with visual impairments, is highly recommended. This is “El Bosc Inundat”, a space that reproduces an Amazonian forest and is recommended for the sensations and sounds that are reproduced there. Guide dogs are allowed throughout the premises.

The museum has wheelchairs to facilitate the mobility of people with mobility difficulties. To use them, simply go to the information point at the main entrance. This service is subject to availability. The building consists of six floors that are connected by several large elevator hubs, escalators and ramp routes, the gradient of which varies between 8% and 16%. There is a panoramic spiral ramp that connects five floors of the museum, with a gradient of 10% and without intermediate landings. For people in wheelchairs, it is preferable to access the different rooms using an elevator. The museum has spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. There are stairs at the main entrance to the planetarium. People in wheelchairs must access it from the back and must be in the last row because it is stepped. There are a maximum of 12 wheelchair spaces. The Auditorium and the Àgora Hall are staggered and people in wheelchairs must sit in the first or last row, as access is available from the front and also from the back entrance. The rest of the classrooms on Floor -2 are all at ground level, and only Sala Pi must be accessed via a ramp with an 8% slope. The shop and cafeteria are located on level ground. If you are using a wheelchair, you can access the restaurant via an alternative ramp with an 8% slope. The museum has parking, with the corresponding 6 spaces reserved for people with disabilities. And priority access for group transport by adapted vehicles 25 meters from the main entrance to the museum. The building has adapted toilets on all floors.

Upon request, the museum offers adapted tours for people with intellectual disabilities. The museum has developed an Accessible Guide for better planning of the visit.
