Tavascan is a small high-mountain village in Pallars Sobirà, known for its winter resort. Its narrow, cobbled streets preserve the character of traditional Pyrenean villages, where nature sets the pace. Each season transforms the landscape: snowy winters and quiet skiing; lush green springs and crystal-clear waters; cool summers ideal for hiking; and autumn woodlands in warm golden tones. Among the village’s landmarks are the Church of Sant Bartomeu and, beside the medieval bridge, the Monument a l’Aiguadora, a tribute to the power of water. A living postcard where time is felt differently.

This is good to know

Tavascan also conceals a cave worthy of legend. The Forat de Tavascan offers caving in the heart of the Pyrenees, a hidden gem still unfamiliar to many Catalans.
The winter resort extends beyond alpine skiing, with options such as snowshoeing, splitboarding and guided snowcat tours – above all, offering tranquillity.
Routes to viewpoints, mountain passes and glacial lakes depart from the Tavascan–Pleta del Prat refuge, whether on foot, by bike or at a run.
Along the river, a walking area becomes – when weather permits – an inviting spot for an al fresco meal, framed by calm and mountain views.
