Carrer de Mallorca, 291-293
Houses and emblematic buildings
This building, at the heart of the Eixample district, displays some of the most authentic features of Modernisme. Even a passing glance captivates with its façade and side towers designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner: a rich interplay of reliefs, stained glass, tiles and floral motifs. Originally, the ground and first floors housed a printing workshop and a residence, and the building still exudes the artistic atmosphere of early 20th-century Barcelona. The lobby’s ornamentation is equally lavish, with the marble staircase standing out as particularly striking.
