Platja de Sant Miquel is one of Barcelona’s oldest urban beaches, stretching for just over 400 metres. Next to the Barceloneta neighbourhood, its rhythm changes with the seasons: in summer, the murmur of the waves mingles with paddle games and beach volleyball matches. In winter, the sand becomes a place for quiet walks and reading in the sun. Even so, it never completely empties: there is always someone enjoying the palm trees, the promenade and the view out to sea.

The beach takes its name from the Església de Sant Miquel del Port, built in 1755 and dedicated to the patron saint of the Barceloneta neighbourhood.
It has drinking fountains, showers, public toilets and a lifeguard tower, although services may vary depending on the season.
