Museu de la Música

A tactile floor indicates the access from the street to the building that houses the Music Museum. Once inside the building, you must take an elevator and go up to the second floor, where the Museum is located. The elevator does not contain information in Braille or audio and the doors open automatically. The interior of the building does not have orientations for people with visual disabilities. Once inside the Museum, the main itinerary is available on the museum's audio guide, with audio description in Spanish. At some points along the route, there are acoustic screens for collective listening to the instruments that are exhibited in the display cases. During guided tours, you can request an audio description of the pieces on display. In the so-called 'Interactive Room', there is the possibility of interacting with some instruments, such as the electric guitar or the harp. There is also a model of an organ. Magnifying glass loan service. Guide dogs are allowed throughout the premises.

The Museum has no architectural barriers. The building is wheelchair accessible. Parking: Right in front of the Museum there are 5 parking spaces in a row on the public road (Padilla Street), reserved and signposted for people with reduced mobility. In addition, there is a nearby parking lot located in Plaça de les Arts, in B:SM (C/ Padilla, 159), also with reserved and signposted spaces. Entrance: Access is on the ground floor. The entrance door is manual, made of glass and is 250 cm wide, so it is large and heavy, but it is usually open. In the lobby there are lifts to go up to the second floor of the building where the Music Museum is located. Lift: The lift door is 180 cm wide. Interior dimensions: width 235 cm and depth 200 cm. Capacity for 33 people. The buttons are 130 cm high. Reception: The reception desk is 103 cm high. Mobility inside the museum: Wheelchair loan service. Ask at reception. The itinerary inside the museum does not present any difficulties in circulation. The rooms are spacious and there is enough space between the exhibition elements to move around in a wheelchair. The floor is carpeted in almost all rooms. The horizontal display cases are 80 cm high. There are seats to rest along the route. Toilets: There are walk-in toilets in the building. The door of the cabin is 96 cm wide. There is a folding bar on the left side of the toilet. There is a free space under the sink that allows frontal approach. Cafeteria and restaurant: The cafeteria in the Auditorium complex, outside the museum, is on a flat floor. Self-service restaurant service. In August the cafeteria is closed.

The Museum space is dark and the materials on display are dimly lit. Tours and workshops adapted for groups with special needs are offered. Prior reservation required.
