Museu de la Música

A tactile paving indicates the access from the street to the building that houses the Museum of Music.
Once inside the building, you need to take an elevator and go up to the second floor, where the Museum is located.
The elevator does not contain braille or audio information and the doors open automatically.

The interior of the building does not provide orientation for people with visual disabilities.

Once inside the Museum, the main route is available in the museum's audio guide, with audio description in Spanish.

At certain points along the route, there are acoustic screens for collective listening to the instruments displayed inside the showcases.

During guided tours, audio description of the exhibited pieces can be requested.

In the so-called 'Interactive Room', it is possible to interact with some instruments, such as the electric guitar or the harp. There is also a model of an organ.

Magnifying glasses are available for loan.

Guide dogs are allowed throughout the premises.

The Museum reception has a fixed induction loop and a portable hearing loop for guided tours, which must be booked in advance.

Audiovisuals containing audio information have Catalan and Spanish subtitles.

The museum has no architectural barriers. The building is wheelchair accessible.
Parking: Directly in front of the museum, there are 5 on-street parking spaces (Carrer de Padilla) reserved and signposted for people with reduced mobility.
There is also a nearby B:SM car park at Plaça de les Arts (159 Carrer de Padilla), which also has reserved and signposted spaces.
Entrance: Access is step-free. The entrance door is manually operated, made of glass and 250 cm wide, so it is large and heavy, although it is usually open. There are lifts in the foyer providing access to the second floor of the building, where the Museu de la Música is located.
Lift: The lift door is 180 cm wide. Interior dimensions: 235 cm wide and 200 cm deep. Capacity for 33 people. The control panels are positioned at a height of 130 cm.
Reception: The reception desk is 103 cm high.
Getting around the museum: Wheelchairs are available for loan. Please ask at reception.
The route through the museum presents no circulation difficulties. The rooms are spacious and there is sufficient space between the exhibits for wheelchair users to move around. The flooring is carpeted in almost all rooms.
The horizontal display cases are positioned at a height of 80 cm.
There are seats for resting along the route.
Toilets: The building has accessible toilets.
The cubicle door is 96 cm wide. There is a fold-down grab rail on the left-hand side of the toilet. There is clear space beneath the washbasin to allow a frontal approach.
Café and restaurant: The café in the L’Auditori complex, outside the museum, has step-free access. Self-service restaurant facilities are available. The café-restaurant is closed in August.

The Museum space is dark and the exhibited materials are illuminated with low light.
Visits and workshops adapted for groups with special needs are offered. Advance booking required.
