Cavatast and Cava Week are two key events at the heart of the Penedès, with cava as the star. Cavatast, held each October in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, is an annual fair where DO cavas and local gastronomy are enjoyed in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Cava Week, usually taking place between November and December, expands the experience with visits to wineries, themed routes and gatherings celebrating the sparkling culture of the whole region. It is an invitation to wander among the vineyards, dive into the world of cava, discover its subtle flavours and meet the people who bring it to life.

This is good to know

The Cavatast festival in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia is one of the rare occasions to taste cavas from small, family-run wineries that seldom leave the Alt Penedès. Some producers only open their finest reserves here.
Notice the ageing periods, from the youngest to the Gran Reserva, to appreciate the full complexity of flavours.
Be bold and try innnovative food pairings: pairing food with cava is another way to explore.
Take the chance to learn about cava production in wineries that, in many cases, have centuries of history.
